Supporting Your Church

One of the most important obligations a Christian holds is his continuing support of his church. Because it is his church that affords him and his community the peace and harmony that we all enjoy today through our Lord Jesus Christ. And for this reason the sustaining and support of his church should be of utmost importance. He should take care to secure every opportunity to promote the welfare and future of his church. And he should teach his children the same.

Many of us living in our communities have been kept unaware of the valuable treasures in the form of support provided to us by the church right inside of our communities. Perhaps we have become accustomed to conducting our affairs through other forms of support that we have forgotten or lost sight of all the benefits that our parents enjoyed when they had nowhere else to turn. But some day we all will come to know that all of the support and benefits that our parent’s parents have relied on for generations is the same support that we will embrace during this generation and many more to come.

How can I be more supportive of my church?

It is not necessary to join a church group in order to show your support but it is a very good place to start. You will find that church groups will not only provide you with pre-existing support technologies but also an opportunity to meet and work along side some very friendly people with very noble intentions just like you. And by becoming a member of the group you will find that you have acquired some very loyal friends who will be there for you during a time of crisis.

If you decide not to join a group all you would need to do is let your Pastor know that you would like to participate in some of the church’s charity events. There are many wonderful activities that your church is currently promoting that are designed to benefit and improve your community. You would soon begin to know the joy and fulfilling experience that follows when you take part in helping your church and community.

Keep in mind that apart from keeping the community in harmony the Church is continuously active in the institution of education (The Church has 230 colleges and universities in the U.S. with an enrollment of 700,000 students). And all of this is achieved without burdening the tax payers. You would be pleased to know the value of your 10% contribution to your church offerings. Those of us who enjoy giving our 10% realize that God gives back much more in return.
